This Stem pack includes 4 challenges for the month of January.
Including:
-Build an igloo
Challenge students to create an igloo using cups, paper and cotton balls. Is the igloo stable enough to put a toy bear inside?
-Make the Tallest Snowman
Toothpicks, marshmallows and construction paper is all students have to create the tallest snowman possible!
-Building a Sled
Sledding is so much fun! Can students make a mini sled to slide down a ramp using easy-to-find items like straws, foil and paper towel tubes?
-Melting Marshmallows
Inquiring minds will want to know- which type of liquid (milk, soda or water) will disintegrate marshmallows the fastest!
Each Challenge includes a teacher resource guide that includes a challenge question, materials for the challenge, related books list, vocabulary and a photo example.
Each Challenge also includes a prompt. This prompt helps children better connect with the problem, making it more real.
Also included:
-Vocabulary cards with pictures.
-An overall monthly materials list.
-A printable planning page for students to draw their ideas on.
